EGNC develops government-wide ICT strategic plans and put in place its measurement framework. Secretariat support is also provided for the various e-Government governance forums such as E-Government Leadership Forum (EGLF), Chief information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technical Officers (CTO) meetings. Technical advices for ICT projects are given.
The department also looks into research on new developments in ICT including performing business process re-engineering (BPR), feasibility study and cost benefit analysis. In line with the country's aspiration towards the adoption of ICT in the country, formulation of national and government level ICT policies are put in place to bring about positive results with ICT exploitation. Areas of change are identified to perform impact assessment and propose suitable change programs associated with e-government projects.
